Today more than ever, there is so much fear and doubt in the hearts of many. Some doubt God’s love and integrity and their faith is failing. You have to know that God cannot lie, otherwise it becomes difficult to trust in His love for you. He is Holy, His holiness makes it impossible for Him to lie.
We live in a world that is filled with the schemes and devices of the evil one and he is striving really hard to exercise dominance through sickness, disease, lack, depression, loneliness, and all kinds of ills on the human race. The sad part of all this is that the devil has convinced a lot of people that God is the one responsible for their present situation. Therefore we find a large number of people blaming God for the evil in this world.
However, if you are privileged to have read God’s will, you will see that the opposite is true. God’s will is written clearly in the Bible, and in it you will discover that God desires only the best for you and I. The truth is that He has already made provisions for us to enjoy His blessings: spiritually, physically, emotionally, and financially.
The Bible says in Jeremiah 29:11 NLT
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
In John 10:10 Jesus Himself said: … I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. Think of that: …that you may have life more abundantly.
This is God’s plan for you and all humanity. He has not, and will not change His plan.
If you read through the Bible you will see that God’s promises do not just drop on someone, you must desire it. That desire would drive you to make sure you are in a position to receive and handle the promises of God. For you and I to enjoy the entirety of what our redemption in Christ Jesus has done for us, we have certain responsibilities.
1. The Responsibility to Know God’s Will For Yourself.
Faith begins where the will of God is known. No farmer can expect to reap an harvest without first planting seeds. Even if the farmer prays and fasts for 21 days and enlist others to agree with him. At harvest time he will have nothing. He has to plant seed for there to be harvest.
It is the same with your faith you have to know God’s will in order for your faith to come alive. His Word is His will. Get to know God’s will concerning your life and the area of your need. Take the time to study God’s Word and know what He wills for you.
The seed is God’s Word. Luke 8:11 NLT
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17
2. The Responsibility to Believe And Accept His Will.
Having located God’s will from the Bible, believe and accept it. Do not say, “This can’t possibly be for me”. Do not allow tradition, fear, doubts or anything deprive you of God’s best for your life.
When Jesus was going to heal Jairus’s daughter, a man came and told him, don’t trouble the Master any more, your daughter is dead.
What was Jesus’s response? “Do not be afraid; only believe” – Mark 5:36 NKJV.
Jesus is saying to you now, in spite of the terrible situation you might be facing… “Do not be afraid; only believe”
You have the capacity to believe. Jesus will not ask you to do something you cannot do. If He says to believe Him, it is because He knows you can. It is as simple as saying,“yes, I believe” and allowing your actions line up with your belief.
Every promise in the scripture is for “whosoever” will believe. In God’s Word is His power to salvage anyone or any situation, but one must believe.
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Romans 1:16
3. The Responsibility to Identify Yourself With God’s Will.
Feeding your spirit with the Word of God will transform your mind. The mind is where the battle of your life begins. When you find the right word, accept it, believe it, and speak it to yourself. Imagine that Jesus Himself is speaking directly to you. See yourself as the Will of God describes you. Just like what you eat reflects in your body, what you believe and say is what you become. God’s Word spoken with a heart of faith on a consistent basis, will cause situations to line up with His Word. God’s Word has creative power:
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Hebrews 11: 3
As you speak God’s Word over your life you are releasing His power to change your situations to line up to His promises.
For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says …. and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says – Mark 11:23 NKJV.
Settle It Once And For All!
This is the crux of it all! Your spirit must be rooted deep in this truth. God has no reason to lie to you. He made these promises before He created the world, before you were born.
…In hope of eternal life which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began – Titus 1:2 NKJV.
You must settle it in your mind that God’s Word is true, irrespective of the situation.
What the Word says is yours, you must not say otherwise, you must not speak different.
Why? You have come to know THAT GOD CANNOT LIE. Even if God wants to lie, He cannot. He is holy, His holiness makes it impossible for Him to lie.
Just like it is impossible for a man to be pregnant with a child, it is impossible for God to lie.
That by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us. Hebrews 6:18 NKJV.
Allow the knowing that it is impossible for God to lie give you hope and strengthen you faith. Be encouraged and refuse despair, trust in God’s love for you.
When you face a situation that is conflicting with God’s Word and promises, settle with God’s Word. It is natural to believe what you see, but choose to see through God’s Word. What you see in the natural is temporal but what you see in the spirit via God’s Word is eternal.
Let God’s Word be the final authority in your life. Let every man and situation be a lie to you, allow God’s Word only to be your truth. See Romans 3:4
Till next time, remember, God is on your side!
