Every day we make decisions, some good, and others not so good. Your decisions today will determine what you become in the future, good or bad. The more right decisions you make, the better your life. My desire is that your ability to make the right decisions will increase tremendously, as you put to practice the principles following.
Now we do not know all things, especially the future, but we know He who knows the end from the beginning. His Name is Jesus Christ.
“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” Revelation 1:8 NKJV.
We make decisions based on the information we have. There are natural and supernatural information on every subject matter. Unfortunately, most of the time we make decisions from the natural resources available to us and most of those times, the result are not pleasant.
The Bible is a book loaded with supernatural information. Do not underrate its content. Every scripture is God breathed. God’s integrity, His throne, His Name and the Blood of Jesus is behind every word in the Bible.
You can depend on the Word of God. It is profitable for making the right decisions.
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 NKJV.
Spending time with the Word of God as a lifestyle will deliver to you an endless resource of supernatural information. Understand that God’s Word is the same as God and same as Jesus:
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:1,14 NKJV.
Do not treat God’s Word with levity. The Word of God when applied correctly will transform not just your life, but a whole generation, community and nation. God’s Word is full of power!
Now, the scripture makes it clear that the supernatural is superior to the natural.
- God created what we see by what we cannot see.
- Jesus merely spoke and demons were disarmed.
- Elisha cut off a piece of wood, threw it into water, and a sunken ax head came floating atop the water.
- Naaman washed in river Jordan and his skin was cleared of leprosy.
- Ruth followed Naomi to Israel even though she (Naomi) had no son she (Ruth) could marry.
- Daniel risked his life to obey God by refusing to defile himself with unclean food and King Nebuchadnezzar preferred him after the training.
I want to share with you, how to access, appropriate, and utilize the supernatural information God has provided us, in order to make the right decisions for the right outcomes.
Renew Your Mind.
Your mind is the battlefield of your life. When you are victorious in your mind, you will do well in life.
It is not to your advantage to live life depending on your natural mind. Every day your mind gathers information from what you see, hear, read, observe, etc. For you and I to be able to make right decisions EVERY time: The mind must be renewed by the Word of God constantly. Look at this scripture;
Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you] Romans 12:2 AMPC.
In the book of Ephesians, we find that the word of God is like water that washes and cleanses…
That he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word. Ephesians 5:26 ESV
The Word is water that washes away every wrong concept, perspective, and thought, from the mind. For this to take place one must be immersed totally in the Word. This is easy to do. Start by reading the Bible every day, one or two chapters to begin with. Mostly focusing on areas of concern in your life.
Choose The Higher Way.
The Bible says in Isaiah: Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the LORD, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.
Isaiah 55:7 NKJV
In order to make the right decisions, you have to think like God. In order words, you have to forsake your way of thinking and fully embrace God’s thought. Just before the children of Israel were to enter the land of promise, 12 men were sent as spies to see what the land looks like. 10 of the men said, “…the land where you sent us. It truly flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit. Nevertheless the people who dwell in the land are strong; the cities are fortified and very large; moreover we saw the descendants of Anak there…”We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we.” Numbers 13:27-28, 31 And verse 32 records that they brought an evil report to the children of Israel.
God’s Word is a reflection of His thoughts. “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9.
Meanwhile, the other two men; Caleb and Joshua were filled with God’s promises, focused on obeying God, and that affected their thoughts and invariably their decision. After all, God who promised to give them the land knew there were giants in there.
They chose to make a decision based on what God has commanded and they ended up being the only ones in their age group to make it into the promised land.
Making the right decisions based on God’s Word will lead you to victory all the time.
Associate With God.
Take note of the words you speak. If they are natural and negative, that is a reflection of your thoughts. To change your words, you have to change the source of your information. The only way to change your mindset is to embrace the Word of God. When you associate yourself with the Word of God, in due course it will rub on you and you will begin to see things from God’s perspective and your words will follow suit. As it is written:
He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will be destroyed. Proverbs 13:20 NKJV.
Jesus made a very profound statement in the gospel of Luke.
A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. Luke 6:45 NKJV
You can only speak what is inside your heart, a reflection of your thoughts. As you keep company constantly with God’s Word as you associate yourself with God through His word, it will affect your thoughts, you words, and finally your decisions.
Your decisions determine your destiny.
Till next time, remember, God is on your side!
